Groups are being established within the alumni to focus activities and dialogue on areas of interest to members, whether that be on a geographical basis or cross-alumni.

It is planned to establish region based chapters to which members might affiliate and also special interest groups to which members may subscribe.

Interest groups might include:

• social groupings, e.g. affiliation with a particular division of DST (current or past)
• a field of work
• a technical discipline
• a professional activity of alumni members (such as participants in the STEM Professionals in Schools program, or mentoring current DST staff).

Members may subscribe to multiple interest groups, but affiliate with only a single chapter at any point in time.
