Asian Physics Olympiad 2019—Volunteering Opportunity (Adelaide)

APO Logo

From 5 to 13 May, 200 of Asia’s best and brightest physics high school students (including an Aussie eight-member team) will be in Adelaide for the Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) which is made up of academic competitions, opening and closing ceremonies, cultural experiences, and much more.

The academic competition comprises a theory exam and an experimental exam–each lasting about 5 hours. The organisers are after a team of local volunteers to help mark the exam papers. Volunteers will be provided with training and support from Olympiad experts, and a buddy to mark with.

Volunteers are needed for either of the following:

  • Theory Exam: Tuesday 7 May (1pm to 7pm), Wednesday 8 May (9am to 5pm) and Saturday 11 May (1.30pm to 5.30pm); or
  • Experimental Exam: Thursday 9 May (1 pm to 7pm), Friday 10 May (9am to 5pm) and Saturday 11 May (1.30pm to 5.30pm)

More information about APhO and the volunteer positions can be found on the Asian Physics Olympiad website.
